Pavilions is a sound installation consisting of four large ceramic pieces with loudspeakers. This work focuses on one of the oldest sound instruments – the bell – and more particularly the church bell. In the exhibition space, the sculptures are equipped with a sound system, which can be activated by the audience during the show. Each piece produces a particular sound, note and frequency.
The sculptures were produced at La Madeleine’s workshop in Anduze – city which perpetuates a tradition of potters dating from the seventeenth century.
